PADI Discover Scuba Diving
If you are new to diving and looking to dip your toe in the water so to speak then this is the perfect option for you. This half day experience is geared towards those who may not have the time or resources to complete the PADI Open Water Course, but still want the opportunity to marvel at the stunning underwater scenery and marine life down to a maximum depth of 12 meters. The Discover SCUBA Diving programme is designed for first time divers and provides the perfect chance to try diving in the rich, sheltered waters around Phi Phi Islands. This is a popular option for holiday-makers on Phi Phi so we offer these trips twice every day (morning and afternoon). You will run through some essential skills and hand signals with your lovely and friendly PADI Dive Instructor before taking the plunge underwater. The day includes two dives that last roughly 40 minutes each and the whole trip will take approximately 4-5 hours in total. Lunch and refreshments are included and often we visit a small secluded beach away from the crowds to relax between dives and enjoy a freshly cooked Thai meal. Becoming a diver is as easy as that!
Marine Life - What to expect underwater
We're sure you'll be amazed and impressed in equal measure with what you can see underwater diving with us. First of all, there are turtles (everyone loves turtles, right? We sure do!) and Phi Phi has 2 different species; Green and Hawksbill turtles. Sharks are also a common sight around the islands (don't worry, they're not dangerous to humans!) The black-tip reef shark is an incredibly gracious animal that you can only fully appreciate once you've dived with them in their natural habitat. We also have docile leopard sharks that can be seen sleeping on sandy patches during the day time. There are hundreds of species of fish in every colour of the rainbow including lionfish, batfish, butterflyfish, clownfish (aka Nemo), pufferfish, scorpionfish, grouper, parrotfish, rainbow wrasse, barracuda, needlefish and trumpetfish, to name a few. Many divers' favourite moment is approaching a school of hundreds and hundreds of yellow snapper and calmly swimming through them, until you are encircled in a tornado of fish. Mesmerising! Octopus and peacock mantis shrimp can also be spotted if you have a keen eye and the colour-changing cuttlefish is probably the most impressive of all. Dolphins can occasionally be spotted jumping on the surface whilst we are travelling between sites and if you're really lucky you will see the worlds largest fish; the whale shark, measuring up to 10m in length. Wow.
Is SCUBA Diving for me?
Many people think diving is a dangerous sport for adrenaline junkies or crazy people. This is completely untrue! Anyone (over the age of 10) can dive and have a great time. It's surprisingly easy as we do all the hard work for you, making it a relaxing, tranquil and mesmerising experience. Here at Beachfront we have a great multi-national team of professional SCUBA Diving Instructors, speaking a variety of languages, who's only job is to take care of you and make sure you have a great day! Your safety and comfort is our main concern. If that isn't enough, we have invested in the newest and the highest quality SCUBA equipment for 2016/17; so we actually have the best dive gear on Phi Phi.
An experience you'll never forget
Sunshine, sea, sand and sensational scenery! What is there not to like? We have received nothing but positive reviews about this trip so far, but don't take our word for it. Check out some of our reviews on TripAdvisor and Facebook, to see what our previous guests think about a day out diving with us.
If you want to make sure that you don't forget these moments, then we can invite our in-house photographer (The Scuba Fairy) along on the trip and she will take epic photos of your day both above and below the water.
